The mushroom haircut, aka bowl haircut, is a short haircut in which hair is cut evenly short on the sides and back, while the top length is left long. The finished result looks similar to a mushroom head, hence its name. We’ve seen models on the runway with mushroom cut hair and actress Marion Cottilard lit up the Met Gala red carpet with her candyfloss-pink coiffe this year. Even Charlize Theron has sported it multiple ways, which can only mean one thing – the bowl cut is officially cool.
