How to create the perfect curly ponytail
Prep your hair.
Before curling your hair for your curly ponytail, start by prepping your hair with the VO5 Express Primer. This spray will help protect your hair from heated styling while helping to detangle your hair and reducing flyways. Now, that’s what we call a hard working product
Curl your hair.
Once you’ve prepped and protected your hair, take a small section of hair (roughly a couple of inches) and wrap it around the barrel of your curling wand. Hold for a few seconds before releasing. Don’t have a curling wand? Don’t worry, you can still curl your hair with straighteners or rollers.
Tease your hair.
Section 2-3 inches of hair either side of your middle parting. Then use section clips to keep them out of your way. Lift your hair at your crown at gently backcomb the hair using a comb or brush to give your hair a bit of oomph.
Create your ponytail.
Gently (and carefully) smooth your hair and gather it into a ponytail. Secure the ponytail with a hairband.
Hide your hairband
Unclip the two sections of hair at the front and loosely draw one section back towards your ponytail. Place it over and across the base of the ponytail to hide your ponytail, wrap the hair around the ponytail and discreetly pin. Do the same with the other section of hair, creating a crisscross .
Final look.
