Haider Ackermann does punk hair for Paris Fashion Week
This is punk-chic hair on a whole new level!
Paris Fashion Week has been a roller coaster ride of amazing hair styles and unique ‘dos! Although the whole affair was taken up a notch when we spotted giant, spiked-up strands on the runway, which can mean only one thing: punk hair is back in vogue once again (yay)!
For his spring/summer 2017 show, Haider Ackermann sent models down the runway flaunting extravagant, spiky hair – and trust us when we say, they looked absolutely insane! So, to truly see what all the fuss is about, read on to get the lowdown on this hair-raising look.
Punk hair at Haider Ackermann SS17
To create this extreme porcupine-worthy look, the model’s hair was spun into circular knots, before long, stick-straight extensions were pinned against them. These sharp looking creations certainly gave an incredibly jagged and dimensional edge to the new season collection!
But the fun didn’t just stop there: to give these hairstyles a truly punk-rock feel, each look was given a DIY hair accessory of white ribbon, worked around the the models’ heads and between the deadly spikes!
To finish the look, each model was give a colourful flick of bright yellow eyeliner, adding to the very striking aesthetic.
The fierce hairstyles were paired with crinkled tops and biker jackets, making the whole look very reminiscent of the punk-rock scene of the 1970s. We can’t help but hope that we start seeing people working these hardcore spikes on the streets, don’t you?
Editor’s tip: Tempted to try these razor sharp ‘do for yourself? Then you’re going to need a lot – and we mean a lot – of hair product, to ensure they stay upright all day long!
We suggest starting out with a strong hold hair gel, such as the VO5 Mega Hold Gel Spray, to create each of your spikes, working the product from root to tip. Once dry, finish with a healthy dose of VO5 Ultimate Hold Hairspray to set the look in place.
