6 Marvel Hairstyles to get you geared up for Avengers: Endgame

Which Marvel character is your hair inspiration?

With the release of Avengers: Endgame fast approaching, we’re getting into the Marvel spirit here at All Things Hair, with the best way we know how, by taking a look at all the great character hairstyles of course.

Not content with saving the world and rocking amazing outfits, the strong female cast are always serving us some pretty amazing hairstyles. So, ahead of the new release, we take a look back at some of the stand out Marvel hairstyles from the likes of Black Widow and co.

1. Black Widow

From blonde, dark brown to our personal favourite, deep copper, Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson is the Marvel hair chameleon (and deadly spy assassin) we can’t get enough of.

There are even some theories around the timeline of the new movie, based solely on Black Widow‘s hair colour in the trailers. With one trailer showing her with a blonde bob, another with a longer blonde Dutch braid and the final trailer showing her with red hair in an updo, indicating there might be a time jump sequence – say what?!?

2. Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson is the first female superhero lead for the Marvel Universe and is set to save the world from Thanos‘ destruction – we hope.

With her perfectly tousled blonde long bob in her debut role as Captain Marvel, we can see from the new trailer that she’s also had a hair makeover and is now sporting a longer and darker blonde style.

3. Nakia

It was a strong female cast in Black Panther and with it some amazing hairstyles. Take Lupita Nyong’o who wore her natural hair in flat knots (coined the Wakanda knots) which is similar to Bantu knots but flatter in appearance.

Although Nakia (Lupita’s character) played the love interest of Black Panther, her character was strong and fierce, and it showed with her hair.

4. Ramonda

AKA The Queen Mother, played by Angela Bassett had a real story to tell with her hair.

At the start of Black Panther, Ramonda is seen wearing an array of beautiful headdresses that signify her regal status in Wakanda. However, as things turn a little ugly for the family, her headdress is gone and her vulnerability is shown when we see her grey dreadlocks. Headdress or grey locks, we love her either way.

5. Okoye

Sticking with Black Panther is perhaps the most striking and empowered hairstyle across all Marvel movies. We are of course talking about Okoye and the Dora Milaje, the all-female elite group of bodyguards protecting the king.

All woman had shaven heads that were often adorned with temporary tattoos and geometric designs when they went into battle.

6. Scarlet Witch

After undergoing experiments with HYDRA, Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen emerges with a superhuman ability which she uses to manipulate and warp reality.

But besides all the crazy mind-altering destruction, it’s her long wavy hair that we love. From light copper to dark auburn, Scarlet Witch serves up all the red hair inspo we need.
