For the Carolina Herrera fashion show, celebrity hairstylist, Orlando Pita drew inspiration from the ancient art of Japanese paper-folding (AKA origami). The name was cleverly coined because of the sculptural and minimalist aesthetic that the half-up hair trend holds. So, don’t be surprised if the models’ ultra smooth, super straight tresses seem to resemble ‘folded’ paper – it’s completely intentional!
But what’s the best thing about this new half-up hair trend, we hear you cry? Well, it’s actually quite versatile and can be created not only on long locks, but on short bobs, too. Which means that ladies with relatively short crops can also rock this oriental-inspired hair trend from The Big Apple!
