As much as we love her, there’s no denying that when it comes to her hair, Ariana Grande isn’t really one for experimentation.
Other than occasionally wearing her hair in half-up styles or playing around with choppy bangs from time to time, it’s rare to see her without her signature high ponytail. And when you’ve got a good thing going, why change it, right?!
However, the 24-year-old seems to have had a sudden change of heart, as she’s completely ditched her usual look, revealing a grape-purple shade on her Instagram! Her bold new ‘do is brightening up our grey summer, so keep on scrolling to see it for yourself.

Ariana, who is currently in Tokyo for the final leg of her Dangerous Woman tour, shared the above video to her Instastories to debut her new ‘do.
The first thing we noted was that her hair is now BRIGHT purple! But as well as that, her waist-length hair has also been traded in for a much shorter, shoulder-length style, styled into a super cute mini side ponytail. She must have been missing her bangs too, as she’s also gone for a choppy, long fringe, which really helps to brings out her big brown eyes.
If you’re freaking out about the prospect of never seeing Ariana’s signature ponytail though, you can chillax. Judging by the texture of the hair in the video, we think it’s safe to assume this is just a wig. But temporary or not, we’re loving this new colourful side to Ariana and we can’t wait to see what other looks she has up her sleeve!
