You Will Need
Shampoo bars are a concentrated type of shampoo in solid form, similar to a bar of soap. A more eco-friendly alternative to traditional liquid shampoos, they eliminate the use of plastic bottles and reduce waste, usually coming packaged in cardboard.
Ultra-compact and easy to take with you on the go, their solid format makes them ideal for travel, festivals and the gym, as well as just for every day use. If you’ve been thinking about trying out a shampoo bar, read on for our tips on finding the best one for your hair type, plus how to actually use them.

For example, the volumising powers of the Love Beauty And Planet Volume and Bounty Shampoo Bar make it a must-try for anyone with fine hair, while the Blooming Colour Shampoo Bar helps to maintain the vibrancy of colour-treated hair.
Wet Your Hair.
Start by wetting your hair with warm water until it’s completely saturated all the way through. This will help you to create the most foamy lather and give you the best cleanse.
Make a Lather.
Take the shampoo bar and run it under water for a few seconds, then rub it between your hands to create a lather, before applying this lather into your hair.
Alternatively, you can also rub the bar directly onto your hair.
Massage Into Your Hair.
Next, massage the lather into your hair like you would with a regular liquid shampoo, focusing on the scalp and roots.
Rinse and Condition.
Thoroughly rinse out your hair, making sure that no shampoo residue is left behind.
Once you’re finished rinsing out the shampoo, follow up with your normal conditioner or a solid conditioner bar for some extra nourishment, if required.
Comb Your Hair.
Squeeze out any excess water with a towel and use a wide-tooth comb to get rid of any tangles, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots.
