Re-hydrate and revive dry locks with the best products for damaged hair.

Dry hair is a major pain in the neck. Not only does it typically look lacklustre from the outside, its brittle state also makes it more susceptible to damage and breakage, in turn making it more difficult to style. So an all round a hair catastrophe really. Which brings us to the age-old question of ‘what are the best products for dry hair?’.

To save you time, we’ve narrowed it down to just 4 of our favourite products for damaged hair to help you revive dull and dry strands. Read on to see which ones made the list…

Leave-ins

If your regular conditioner doesn’t seem to be giving you enough hydration, a leave-in conditioner should be your next port of call.

While using a wash-out conditioner does help to replenish your hair’s moisture, as leave-ins aren’t rinsed off they’re able to give all-day nourishment and hair hydration, long after you get out of the shower.

The TRESemmé Biotin+ Repair 7 Primer Cream is an intensively moisturising cream formulated with hair strengthening Biotin to tackle 7 different signs of damage, including frizziness, breakage and lack of shine.

Just work the product evenly through damp hair and style as usual – easy-peasy! Oh and Kim K-W uses it, so what more convincing do you need?

Serums

If you’re not using a serum already, your hair is missing out on a whole world of shine. Serums are some of the most effective products for damaged hair as they coat your strands and act as a protective layer, stopping frizz or humidity from ruining your hair throughout the day.

Want to know our current serum obsession? It’s the Nexxus Nutritive Encapsulate Serum, which is enriched with Concentrated Elastin Proteins in an encapsulated formula, helping to restore the fibres of the hair, making it stronger.

Hair masks

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: you really can’t go wrong with giving your hair a little extra TLC with the use of a hair mask every now and again.

The TONI&GUY Damage Repair Mask is a deep conditioning treatment which replenishes lost moisture, leaving hair soft and smooth again. Just work through damp ends, leave it to work its magic for 3-5 minutes and rinse off for visibly shinier, healthy-looking hair.

An oil treatment

While there are no real hair ‘repair’ products out there – since you cannot physically repair the damage done to your tresses – using a hair oil is as close you can get to restoring your mane to its former glory.

Whether your natural hair is curly or straight, everyone can benefit from using a hair oil. If you’re put off by the ‘oily’ aspect of oils, don’t be…

If you’re still dubious, the Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment is a great starting point. The name might sound like a bit of an oxymoron but ‘dry oil’ just means it’s lightweight and won’t contribute to greasiness.

It’s a real treat for thirsty strands, infused with African Macadamia Oil and sweet almond oil, working to replenish your hair’s lipids making it feel silky and supple.
