Prep your hair.
The great thing about gel is that it can be used to style any texture or hair length. Start with either just-washed or day-old locks for maximum staying power.
Start by applying a small amount of VO5 Mega Hold Styling Gel into the palm of your hand. A little goes a long way so start with less than you think. You can always add more to the look if needed.
Loosen the gel with your fingertips.
Rub both your hands together, especially at the fingertips, to coat them evenly with the gel. This will allow you to distribute the product evenly throughout your hair.
Work it into your hair.
Run your fingers through you hair, starting at the front and moving backwards. Finger comb through any sections where the gel has gathered to ensure it’s spread evenly.
Focus more on the roots of the hair if you’re creating a style that requires volume, like a quiff.
Style your hair into place.
Add more gel if needed and, using a comb or your hands, style your hair into place. If you’re using hair gel on wet tresses, blow dry the look after styling with gel to hold it into place.
Alternatively, use gel on dry treses to add a shiny, wet look finish to your ‘do. Perfect if you’re rocking a slick comb over.
